A wee update for the blog!
Great surf on a windy and wild trip to the Scottish Highlands and Islands last week,
Surf ranged from shoulder to head and a half mostly I was surfing on my own.
The water is defo warmer than the East Coast now. I was wearing the Womens Diva 5/4/3, 5mm Circle One wetsuit boots and 3mm gloves…
Just did a quick hit and run to a point break I’d heard about in Brittany, check out the shots!
Hi Guys! I have been on two big surf trips and been surfing in Scotland again since December.
Over Christmas and New Year I went out to Melbourne and surfed along the Great Ocean Road and on the Mornington Peninsula. It was summer swells so the surf was inconsistent but I probably scored it best at Gunamatta. It was hot – 40 degrees some days, bit of a change from our Winter!
Winter ended early this year for the Joxy Team who headed out to NGor Island off the West Coast of Africa, Dakar, Senegal. Getting onto local open fishing boats everyday we have been treated to a huge variety of waves from small to double overhead, lefts, rights walls, barrels, 150m rides. We surfed…
Check out these teaser shots of the new EPS solid-colour skimboards, arriving for Spring 2014. Perfect for those shorebreaks or even for kitesurfing (anyone tried that by the way?)
Absolutely stoked to get these pics of the new Lazy Hogs, hot off the production line!! These beasts will be mega popular for 2014. They will be with us next month and and then straight out to Circle One dealers. Watch this space for more announcements!…
The guys from Active 360, London Paddleboarding testing out our pro-type SUP boot on a recent trip to Greenland Developed specifically for cold water SUP, with thicker sole and complete rand coverage over the front foot, watch this space for developments!…
Just to let you know that I got 5th in the Masters at the European Surf Champs in the Azores. Made it to the repercharge final but missed out on the main final by 0.51 of a point! Gutted to have missed out on the top 4 by such a small margin but there’s always next time! On the plus side, the Azores is a really cool place with lots of uncrowded waves and cool things to see so I’d recommend a surf trip there!
What an amazing day we had for the surf comp the weather stayed dry only a little shower and we had enough surf even though it was only 2 foot but clean so all ages could compete and have fun. With the party in the evening as well we have raised so far £3,501 which is fantastic and the charity CHICKS is so very grateful so thank you very very much for your prizes I have attached a couple for you.
The first one is Paul Varcoe coming 1st in the Mens Longboard receiving your voucher for a shorti wetsuit.
The second photo is Emily Airton coming 2nd in the U16 Longboard
They are the best photos of your prizes be given.
Thanks a lot to Stevie at Mobex, East Lothian for great feedback on the ARC centre suit:
Just to let you know how the ARC suits are getting on, as you know I was a little worried about the durability of these wetsuits for Coasteering and our other water sports activities which also includes gorge walking and surfing. I am happy to say that the suits are doing really well, not only have they held up against the abuse our clients put them through, the quality of the neoprene the thickness, stretch and fit means it has extended the season for our water based activities. Clients are happy, warm and safe!
